We’re working with a national construction and maintenance business that looks after retail, commercial and government sites across NSW. They’re after a commercial painter to join their Sydney team, and if you’ve ever fancied picking up a second trade, they’ll teach you signage installation too.
Most of the work is refreshing and rebranding existing sites. You’ll be painting buildings, canopies, columns and bollards to brand standards, then helping get the new signage up. It’s work you can stand back and look at when you’re done.
What you’ll be doing
- Internal and external commercial painting with brush, roller and spray
- Surface prep, including pressure cleaning, sanding, patching, priming and rust treatment
- Matching paint for touch ups
- Learning to install signage, vinyl graphics and panels alongside the team
- Working on live sites, so setting up safe work areas and keeping the public out of harm’s way
- Photos, checklists and close out paperwork on a tablet
What you’ll need
- 2+ years in commercial painting (a Cert III in Painting & Decorating is ideal)
- Construction White Card
- Working at Heights
- Current driver’s licence
- Happy to travel for regional jobs, usually no more than two weeks at a time
Signage experience, an EWP ticket or a traffic control ticket are a bonus, not a must.
