Our client, is a well established Brisbane based, quality accredited business delivering building maintenance services to government and private sector clients throughout Queensland. As they continue to expand, they’re seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to manage a robust portfolio of renovation and refurbishment projects.
Role Overview
As a Project Manager, you will play a key role in managing projects valued from $100k up to $1M, overseeing a wide range of projects, including residential and school refurbishments. Responsibilities include quality assurance, variation management, safety compliance, and budget control. You will work on residential and education projects, such as refurbishing school canteens and classrooms, full residential remodels, cladding upgrades, and accessibility modifications like bathroom expansions and ramp installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Execution: Ensure project deliverables are achieved efficiently and within budget, meeting the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
- Planning and Scheduling: Oversee project planning, scheduling, and team resourcing.
- Quality Assurance (QA): Conduct QA audits, manage variations, and address any issues or defects promptly.
- Maintain a strong safety culture, aligned with our client’s commitment to WHS standards.
- Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with stakeholders, providing regular updates and reporting on progress, resource planning, and project issues.
- Documentation: Ensure all project documentation is accurately maintained and completed.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve any project challenges, ensuring efficient and cost-effective solutions.
Project Scope and Pipeline
With projects ranging across 6 to 25 active jobs at any given time, you will manage a high volume project portfolio, often handling multiple projects with significant scope, scheduled to commence at the end of this year through the start of next.
Work Location
This position supports a flexible, mostly remote work model:
- 80% work-from-home, with regular site visits
- 20% office based
- Company provided vehicle, with vehicle allowance, mobile phone, laptop
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience: Residential Project Management with at least 3+ years’ experience
- Technical Background: Building, carpentry, or electrical ideally
- Education: Cert IV in Building Construction preferred; QBCC Site Supervisor Licence (must have)
- Systems Knowledge: Proficiency in SimPRO or similar scheduling systems required
- Personal Qualities: A logical problem-solver, effective communicator, and proactive manager capable of mitigating risks and fostering a strong team environment
- Additional Requirements: QLD Driver’s Licence, White Card, and permanent residency/citizenship
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $120,000 + super
