Project Manager | Fitout / Refurbishment / Minor Works

Role Overview:

As a project manager, your main focus will be on financial management and administration for a portfolio of assigned projects, managing various smaller construction projects at one time.

From project initiation to completion, you’ll oversee all transactions, ensuring smooth operations and timely delivery.

You will be managing projects in other states, so being able to manage projects remotely is a must.

Having experience in the fit out / refurbishment / minor works and a building / construction background is a must.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Job Setup:

  • Review cost code structure and develop HSSEQ plan and project-specific documentation.
  • Identify long lead time items and schedule risks.

Kick-off Meetings:

  • Conduct meetings with contractors and staff, outlining HSSEQ requirements and communication needs.

Project Setup:

  • Manage subcontractor pricing and engagement.
  • Coordinate logistics for suppliers and material delivery.
  • Arrange accommodation and travel for remote works.
  • Handle permits and local authority approvals.
  • Address engineering consultation and certification requirements.
  • Maintain project schedule updates.
  • Establish communication with clients and key stakeholders.

Project Management:

  • Plan and communicate resource schedules.
  • Ensure accurate scheduling with stakeholders.

Financial Management:

  • Collaborate with project admin on financial matters.

Project Close-out:

  • Manage project close-out and defect resolution.

Requirements/Capabilities:

  • Experience in building trade or project management/coordination.
  • Resource management and project scheduling skills.
  • Coordination with contractors and trades.
  • Compliance with building codes and permits.
  • Understanding of contracts and client engineering documentation.
  • Proficiency in using web-based programs.
  • Willingness to travel interstate if required.

Minimum Criteria / Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in estimating commercial projects.
  • Previous contract administration or project management experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with online form programs like Field View.
