The Role:
We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager or a motivated Project Coordinator ready to take the next step in their career to join our client’s Brisbane office. In this role, you will oversee the management of multiple minor works projects across metro, regional, and remote locations. You’ll be responsible for end-to-end project delivery, with a strong focus on financial management, ensuring each project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Setup: Oversee project kick-offs, establish cost structures, and develop HSSEQ plans. Prepare Work Risk Assessment Controls (WRAC) and Project Management Plans (PMP).
- Team Leadership: Lead on-site contractors and staff, ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety protocols. Collaborate with on-site leads and site managers to coordinate the work of internal trades and external contractors.
- Scheduling & Procurement: Forecast and manage lead times for materials, scheduling of resources, and procurement processes. Encourage local business and Indigenous engagement where possible.
- Client Communication: Regularly engage with clients and stakeholders, facilitating project kick-off and progress meetings to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
- Financial Management: Take ownership of budgeting, invoicing, variation claims, and cost forecasting to keep projects on track financially.
- Close Out: Ensure timely completion of project close-out documentation and deliverables with support from project administrators.
Requirements / Capabilities:
- Demonstrated experience managing commercial fit-out projects or minor works projects.
- Strong skills in resource management and project scheduling.
- Proven ability to manage multiple minor works projects of varying sizes simultaneously.
- A solid track record of managing contractors and ensuring compliance with building codes.
- Competence in contracts, and engineering documentation (ITPs).
- Proficiency in MS Office, project management software (e.g. Smartsheet, MS Project), and estimating tools.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Desirable:
- A background in carpentry, fit-out, general building or minor works.
- Exposure to civil works.
