Construction Designer | Signage Manufacturing | North Brisbane

About the role

This is a technical design role inside a well-established signage manufacturing business — sitting right at the point where design intent becomes a buildable, installable reality. You’ll work across concept, engineering, and production file prep, ensuring every project is designed to be manufactured correctly the first time.

You’ll collaborate closely with sales, production, and installation teams throughout each project lifecycle.

What you’ll be doing

• Developing concept visuals and detailed shop drawings for signage, wayfinding, illuminated systems, and large-scale assemblies
• Preparing production-ready files for CNC routing, laser cutting, and large-format print
• Producing engineering drawings, BOMs, fabrication instructions, and installation documentation
• Working with production to optimise material yield and minimise rework
• Ensuring designs meet structural, installation, and safety standards
• Contributing to continuous improvement in materials, fabrication methods, and design processes

What we’re looking for

• Experience in signage manufacturing, architectural fabrication, industrial design, or a closely related field
• Advanced AutoCAD skills; proficiency in CorelDraw and Adobe Illustrator
• Experience with CAM/CNC file prep (EnRoute or equivalent)
• Strong understanding of fabrication methods — routing, printing, laminating, assembly, installation
• Ability to produce and interpret detailed engineering and shop drawings
• Solid grasp of design-for-manufacture principles

Bonus points for

• Experience with LED/neon/illuminated signage systems
• Background in wayfinding or environmental graphics
• Understanding of site survey data and on-site installation constraints
