The Role: Our client is seeking a skilled Carpenter & Signage Installer to join their team in Sydney. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering branding and maintenance contracts, fit-out projects, and shop renovations. You will also lead site teams and oversee contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in full compliance with safety standards.
The role involves working on live operating sites, with a focus on communication and safety, including completing safety and risk assessments. You will also take ownership of web-based project management systems, ensuring accurate project close-out documentation is submitted.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Work: Lead and execute rebranding and signage installation across national networks, including durable standing pylons, canopy structures, and shopfront facades.
- Fit-Out Projects: Renovate internal shop layouts, including internal walls, joinery, cabinetry, bathrooms, flooring, walls, and ceilings.
- Oversee contractors on-site, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards (HSSE).
- Manage material lead times, labour resources, and web-based project documentation systems, including QA reviews and project close-out documentation.
- Safety: Ensure all work adheres to client safety and risk standards, including completing required on-site safety paperwork and risk assessments.
- Client Communication: Maintain strong communication with client operations staff and the public to facilitate safe work on live sites.
- Collaboration: Work closely with electrical and fuel system installation teams to ensure project schedules are met.
Requirements / Capabilities:
- Qualified carpenter or signage installer with a minimum of 2 years post-apprenticeship experience.
- Construction White Card.
- Proven ability to manage site teams and contractors with a focus on delivering high-quality, compliant work.
- Experience working on live sites with strong safety awareness.
- Proficiency in using web-based project management systems for documentation and project close-out processes.
- Organisational skills to manage material lead times and labour resources.
- Willingness to travel (up to 2-week blocks regionally and interstate).
- Experience interpreting and implementing engineering and construction plans, including ITPs (Inspection Test Plans).
- Strong communication skills to engage with clients and contractors.
